Here, chicky chicky chicky!

Have you ever roasted chick peas?  I have!

I took about 2 cups of dried chick peas and soaked them in water overnight.  Then, I drained them and let them stand for about 8 more hours.  I've heard that makes them more digestable, if you know what i mean.  

Anyway, then I mixed them with a little olive oil and a lot of salt, and spread them on a sheet.  They are SO photogenic!
 
  
  
  
  
Whew!  Now, that that is out of my system.....
I baked it at 350 for about a half hour.  MMmmmMMmm.  It was a great snack!

  2. I haven't made these for a while...thanks for the reminder! They are also good with sea salt and cayenne pepper. A little garlic powder on them is good too! (a teeny bit of olive oil will help it stick.)

  3. Yummy. I bet these would work well in trail mix as an alternative to peanuts....hmmm things to ponder. Thanks for sharing. :)

  4. I try this yesterday, and after 15 minutes, it start to pop, like popcorn...about a third of the chickpeas was on the bottom of the oven, burning...... i like it more before starting bake them, much tastier!!
