Have you ever roasted chick peas? I have!
I took about 2 cups of dried chick peas and soaked them in water overnight. Then, I drained them and let them stand for about 8 more hours. I've heard that makes them more digestable, if you know what i mean.
Anyway, then I mixed them with a little olive oil and a lot of salt, and spread them on a sheet. They are SO photogenic!
Whew! Now, that that is out of my system.....
I baked it at 350 for about a half hour. MMmmmMMmm. It was a great snack!
Love roasted chickpeas, they are a great snack:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't made these for a while...thanks for the reminder! They are also good with sea salt and cayenne pepper. A little garlic powder on them is good too! (a teeny bit of olive oil will help it stick.)
ReplyDeleteYummy. I bet these would work well in trail mix as an alternative to peanuts....hmmm things to ponder. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI try this yesterday, and after 15 minutes, it start to pop, like popcorn...about a third of the chickpeas was on the bottom of the oven, burning...... i like it more before starting bake them, much tastier!!
